The Couple: Carlee & Rob
Date: August 3, 2019
Venue(s): Private – A flower farm in Newfield, NY
Number of guests: 220

“Big weddings can be intimidating, but Carlee and Rob made this 200+ person celebration feel simple and stress-free. They were married in the orchard where they met surrounded by their closest family and flowers galore, then opened up their celebration to their broad community of friends for a joyful and energetic reception filled with delicious food, live music, and tons of dancing. I was so impressed with the stress-free vibe and the smooth transitions between ceremony, dinner, and dancing, and, of course, the flowers! There were flowers everywhere… in hands, in hair, in drinking water, hanging from the ceiling, on the walls, on tables, on the dogs, down the aisle, on the arbor… “

Sum up your wedding vibe in one short sentence: We were aiming for a fun, colorful and relaxed vibe!

Why did you choose to host your wedding in the Ithaca area? We both grew up here and love how beautiful it is here, especially in the summer!

How did you choose this particular venue?  I grew up on the farm and met Rob there in high school, so it seemed like a good place to celebrate!

Which decisions were most important to you during the planning process? We wanted everything to be as simple and as fun as possible. We knew we wanted lots of good food and music to keep people entertained.

What advice would you give another couple planning a wedding around Ithaca? There are so many amazing vendors and beautiful spots to get married here- it would be hard to go wrong!

What are some things that helped along the way? Rachel from Kinship & Company! She was amazing and so helpful… we really couldn’t have done it without her. Also our family and friends kept us from getting too stressed or worrying about little details.

What was your favorite moment of the day? It would be hard to choose just one- but our little picnic right after the ceremony was a great way to take a moment before joining in the festivities! Also all the dancing!
